Discover Your Rhythm, Honor Your Story Step into Your Power.

Melanie Pertillar, Certified Empowerment Coach, is mentor, speaker, and guide for individuals and organizations ready to live with confidence, clarity and purpose.
Her journey began in the dance studio, where movement taught her about rhythm, presence, and leadership.
Through life's "stages" -- motherhood, surviving cancer, enduring women's health challenges, and navigating personal AND professional growth -- she has developed a unique framework for helping others discover their own rhythm and embrace the hues of their experiences.

HER Stage...
(Cue the lights...)
Melanie grew up in a family that was supportive of her passions. They introduced her to the dance studio — a place that quickly became meaningful, grounding, and formative.
It wasn’t an escape from her life — it was an extension of it.
A place where movement gave emotions a language, and where confidence was built from the inside out.
(The Barre...)
Over time, the ballet barre became more than a place to train — it became a point of return.
A place where she learned to pause, take a breath, stand tall, and meet herself with honesty and awareness.
Lessons that extended far beyond the studio and into everyday life.
(Becoming "Miss Melanie")
With the continued support of her family, and the influence of her mentor who played a meaningful role in her development, Melanie grew not only as a dancer, but as a young woman learning how to carry herself with confidence, presence, and self-respect.
As she stepped into the role of instructor, “Miss Melanie” became known for creating that same environment for her students — a space where they felt seen, supported, and safe to grow into themselves.
She witnessed transformation in real time:
quiet confidence building, voices strengthening, and young girls beginning to see themselves differently.
Over the years, former students would return to share how those moments stayed with them — long after they left the studio.
(The Pain of Loss vs. The Power of Impact)
After the passing of her mentor, Melanie stood before her one final time and instinctively did what she had done at the end of every class — she curtsied and softly said:
“Good afternoon, Miss Cynthia.”
It was never goodbye — but a promise to continue forward with everything she had been taught.
That same day, unexpectedly former students approached her sharing stories of impact with Miss Melanie she was unaware of. Similar to her own experiences she had growing up in the studio with her own mentor.
It was that moment something became clear:
It wasn't the specific ballet barre, the specific studio, it was what the ballet barre and studio represented. It was the space created by her mentor that created the impact.
When someone feels safe in your presence, they rise.
(Becoming Her...)
Life continued to evolve.
Becoming a wife and mother deepened her understanding of responsibility, presence, and the importance of creating a stable, supportive environment — not only for others, but within herself.
Through personal experiences, including health challenges and seasons of transition, Melanie gained a deeper awareness of the silent weight many women carry — often without support, acknowledgment, or a place to land.
Each stage required her to adjust, reflect, and reconnect.
From that evolution, Rhythm & Hues Co. was created.
Rhythm represents the internal guidance we each carry —
our intuition, our pace, our ability to adjust tempo and move through life with awareness.
Hues reflects the diversity of lived experiences, identities, and backgrounds that shape who we are.
As a mother in a multicultural family, Melanie understands how important it is to create spaces where everyone feels seen, respected, and welcomed — without needing to change who they are to belong.
Today, Melanie creates experiences uniquely choreographed and built with a core dance studio culture foundation, mixed with real-life lived, overcome, and diverse experience to help women and girls reconnect to themselves — building confidence, emotional awareness, and self-trust through reflection, conversation, and rhythm-based practices. (Without feeling the need of an audience)
Through workshops, virtual programs, and curated in-person gatherings, she guides others back to a place that feels grounded, aligned, and true.
Her philosophy is simple:
Life is a Stage.
Rooted in Rhythm.
Stand in Your Worth.
